Every job requires certain equipment and training. In my job, making auto parts, we are required to wear protective glasses and to know safety procedures for working on the high speed machine lathes. And yet, this is not a lot compared to other jobs or professions.
Welders as another example require even more sturdy protective equipment – or welding helmet to protect their eyes from the high intensity light of the welder. If you’ve ever watched a welder at work, you would have been struck by the spaceman-like look of their gear and wonder how they could ever do their job wearing such equipment. But if it wasn’t for the heavy duty lens of the helmet, they would not even be able to see their job at hand.
