I think I’ve told this story before, but it’s worth repeating for the entertainment value at least. We were married 10 years ago this September, and I’ll never forget the events of that day – from the
smallest details to the big ones. Well, one of those details happens to involve cigars and my husband’s almost mad quest to get a hold of a certain brand to pass around at our wedding. Actually, it started the day before on the Friday when I suddenly realized he couldn’t be found and I had no idea where he had gone off to.
I later found out that he had travelled all the way to the next city to pick up a case of some specific brand of cigar (was it avo cigar he said?) that he said he wanted. I was not a happy
camper that day, let me tell you. Well, the cigars got passed around on the big day, and my husband had his one request satisfied. It also seemed to go over well enough with the wedding guests. And although he’s never openly admitted it to me, I have a sneaking suspicion that my husband feels a little sheepish about taking up so much time and effort in chasing down a box of cigars for one day’s enjoyment.

Friday, November 25th, 2011Winter is approaching
Friday, November 25th, 2011The last time it was snowing I blogged about it and I said that winter was here. Well technically still fall and I think winter will be officially here in the third week of December. The weather is not really that cold and still feel like fall. But you don’t know what’s going to happen when it comes to weather.
riding boots
Friday, November 25th, 2011We have a policy in our household of leaving outdoor footwear at the door. Well, I try to keep it
at least. But there are many times when I am in such a hurry that I can’t be bothered to reach
down and untie my shoes if I’m just going back in the house for a moment to grab something I
forgot.
Of course it’s a little different story in wintertime when I’m wearing boots with slush and snow
dripping off of them as soon as I step in the door. So unless I feel I don’t mind mopping the floor
later of the winter muck, I’ll usually end up removing them before running into the house.
Rules can be broken and it often depends on what season of the year it happens to be and also on
the type of footwear. I’ll probably never wear a pair of riding boots in the house for example.
But I’ll wear a pair of high heels any day.
application hosting
Thursday, November 24th, 2011If you have company that you are currently running right now you might need some kind of Application Hosting to make your business a successful one. I know some of this IT support will give you 24/7 assistance especially if you own a small business. They have cloud hosting that they are offering right now. They offer guarantees for whatever they are offering.
comfortable shoes while running
Tuesday, November 22nd, 2011We were driving home from church the other day when we spotted a group of maybe ten or twelve ladies running together on the side of the road. My first thought was to how ambitious it was for those ladies to take care of their health with such commitment.
It’s quite a feat to undertake an exercise program of any commitment level. But for those ladies to join together on a regular basis is most noble.
I know how enjoyable it is to run. It’s especially so when you have the right comfortable shoes to bear you’re the weight of your strides. The right shoes can literally make all the difference in how far those ladies or anyone who runs gets in their running program.
cheap eyeglasses
Tuesday, November 22nd, 2011Put up your hand if you’ve ever had a pair of eyeglasses “walk off”. Put up your hand again if you also have a 2 year old who likes to hide things – like eyeglasses – just because he can. I can’t recall how many times I have had a pair of glasses walk off – or should I say get carried away like some child’s spoil of war. And these are not cheap eyeglasses either.
I need my glasses. Without them, I am pretty much useless. I work on the computer and I take a lot of pictures. So not having my glasses makes my life unbearable – they are such an essential item to me.
Of course, my two-year-old looks at those curious wire and glass spectacles as literally that – a wonderful spectacle – or some sort of child’s treasure.
It usually goes something like this: My glasses suddenly mysteriously disappear. Then I look at my son playing innocently with his toy cars and it hits me. I look in vain for where I think he might have put them. And if I’m lucky, I’ll find them in one of his favourite hiding spots – like his sister’s tricycle seat. If I’m even luckier, I’ll get my glasses back in exactly the same shape as when I left them. But that’s another story.
