San Diego

Perhaps somewhere up there on the list of things you never want to have happen to you is to have been unrightfully fired from your job.  Or maybe it’s happened to you.  Injustice is probably an overused word, but how else can you describe a wrongful termination San Diego?  You’d be hard-pressed to argue that being fired over something as indefensible as race, gender or disability is in any way shape or form right.  It is clearly not.

business cards

Sunday, June 9th, 2013

In today’s world of smart phones and personal computers, sometimes the most basic, “low-tech” business solution is still the most efficient and effective.  Take printing business cards as a case in point.  Clients and prospective clients still want to see a business card even if you’ve got the best web site or other high tech marketing materials and tools.  The reason is obvious.  And that wallet sized marketing tool is not about to disappear anytime soon into the dust heap of business history.

carangel

Saturday, August 25th, 2012

We have owned probably half a dozen cars between the two of us.  In almost every case, we have held on to these cars for longer than the average car is kept – if you accept the average to be around four to five years.  We just figured that keeping a car for as long as possible is would be easier to manage financially.  But I think the experts would actually say that trading a car in after four to five years makes a lot more sense.  That way you can get more from the trade-in value of the car.

We found that out the hard way when we eventually brought our old cars in to trade and learned that our “clunkers” were worth way less than we’d expected.  That’s why, now, I wish I’d heard about http://www.carangel.org/ before.  A car can be worth a lot more to persons or certain groups in the real world than the pittance that most dealers appraise them for.

insurance

When it comes to insurance, some say that it is best to buy term and invest the difference in something like a segregated fund. But I guess we all have different preferences when dealing this kind of business. I mean we have to look at our current situation too whether we can afford it or not because it’s usually monthly responsibility. As for that we can visit e&o insurance from TechInsurance.com to find out more about it. And yes it’s highly personal which plan we decide to go and best suited with our family.

video production

Friday, April 20th, 2012

We have a problem with our dvd collection that might be familiar to many parents in the digital age.  Our son likes to watch certain dvd movies that are made for children of his age.  He gets a kick out of movies like The Little Einstein’s, Thomas the Tank Engine and others.  It’s entertaining for us too to watch our little one crack up over a silly part in one of these movies.

Anyway, the problem with our dvd collection is that our son also likes to operate the dvd player himself and of course handle the dvds himself.  It seems to be programmed deeply into children to want to do everything by themselves if they possibly can.  This is good and how children learn, but it can be uniquely problematic in the era of cds, dvds and other digital media.  They love to grab onto the actual dvd discs and smack them around as if they were one of their other plastic playthings.  And even though we were assured when cds and dvds first came out that they were “indestructible”, we all quickly discovered that that was basically not true.  (And I have broken and scratched dvds to prove it.)

Yes, I’ve had to pick up more than one cracked or completely broken dvd off the floor only to groan, Nooo…  And that’s really the issue.  It’s painful to watch a perfectly good disc destroyed by a two-year-old wrecking crew.  But then again, no one said that parenting would be easy.

Well, the other day, it dawned on me that solution to this might be to make backup copies of all of our dvds.  Easy, I thought.  I’ll just do it myself.  But then reality sunk in and the question of whether it’s even legal to do that.  And then would my personal video editing software even hold a candle up to software being used by a professional video production company?

I decided that it wasn’t worth the trouble of doing it on my own at any rate.  We’ll just have to hope that my son learns fast enough not to wreck too many more dvds.

Spring house cleaning

Friday, February 17th, 2012

People are busier than ever today in spite of all our so-called labour saving devices – like dishwashers and computers.  This is probably because we like to fill any extra time we get from using those things with even more activities and possessions – meaning we have to work that much harder to pay for all of this stuff.

Bills have to be paid.  And they’re number one on the list of priorities usually.  Things like house cleaning then takes a lower position in priority for us because of shortage of time.  That’s when we might be considering hiring outside help like holly springs house cleaning.  Again, hiring somebody to do the household cleaning might be your best option.
