There is one particular item in our household that I just can’t seem to keep enough of.  I buy a package of batteries one day and they tend to disappear within a week – if I make the mistake of leaving them out in an obvious location.

I wonder at this.  Does a battery eating monster live in our garage?  No, it’s just my husband’s, and my kids’ battery operated gadgets never-ending demand for the 1.5 volt power cells.
