Maybe I’ll never have an opportunity to play in a band. It would make a good item on my bucket list though. And I can understand the passion for music and the technical ability required, being a photographer myself.
It seems to me too, that there are a lot of similarities between photography and music. Both require state of the art equipment. Musicians might drool over stuff like danelectro at musicians friend, while photographers argue about the best camera. And both are passionate about making the very best production possible.
