safety signs
When my husband was a little boy, he used to like to put up mock danger signs around his sand castle constructions at the beach. He doesn’t know why he used to do this, but it sure got the other kids attention at the beach.
Signs are powerful emblems telling us to stop dead in our tracks, think before entering a washroom, or look out for some danger. You might see safety signs put up around a construction site telling you to put on a hard hat, or “No Parking” signs on almost every street.
They are one of the most recognizable things in our culture and are even be identifiable to people travelling in other parts of the world in spite of the language differences (with the exception of the highway signs I used to see in Quebec, Canada that had an unidentifiable black box, and nothing else. If anyone knows what they signify, I’d be grateful to know).
