scrubs complete set

Saturday, October 30th, 2010

My husband recently had a diagnostic MRI scan.  When he was getting ready to enter the imaging room he told me that he was joking with the technician about which way to don the standard hospital garb.  He actually didn’t know front from back and ended up wearing it back to front.

Hospital wear has always been pretty plain looking up until now.   My husband had on a patient gown, but the standard mens surgical scrubs usually look just as boring.  Apparently they’re quite comfortable though judging by how many hospital workers I’ve seen walking into our local Starbucks.

There has been a new trend though in medical fashion.  It started with an anesthetist’s frustration with the old scrub hats and her deciding to do something about it.  She created a Pony Scrub Hat to be more comfortable and to accommodate long hair in the back.  From there, her line of scrubs grew to include everything you would expect in a scrubs complete set – even down to nursing uniforms for men!

It’s been a while since I worked in as a midwife, but if I were still there, I’d love to get my hands on one of these uniforms for the hospital.

working Saturday

Saturday, October 30th, 2010

Thank God as they always say! I guess they said that because they don’t work on the weekends. But for me I do work on the weekends. I’m working tomorrow but I said no for Sunday. I might be working straight night shift soon on my choice because I don’t switching 3 shifts especially now that I have a small baby to take care of. I have to think carefully about this before I will decide.

safety signs

Thursday, October 28th, 2010

When my husband was a little boy, he used to like to put up mock danger signs around his sand castle constructions at the beach.  He doesn’t know why he used to do this, but it sure got the other kids attention at the beach.

Signs are powerful emblems telling us to stop dead in our tracks, think before entering a washroom, or look out for some danger.  You might see safety signs put up around a construction site telling you to put on a hard hat, or “No Parking” signs on almost every street.

They are one of the most recognizable things in our culture and are even be identifiable to people travelling in other parts of the world in spite of the language differences  (with the exception of the highway signs I used to see in Quebec, Canada that had an unidentifiable black box, and nothing else.  If anyone knows what they signify, I’d be grateful to know).

sick today

Thursday, October 28th, 2010

I’m so tired today at work. I feel like I have a fever. I have cold for sure and don’t feel well tonight. It must have been the other day when I went out to vote. My hair was a little bit wet. I’m always the person who gets sick and I don’t get sick very often. I guess because I’ve been working very hard these days.

hgh pills

Wednesday, October 27th, 2010

The search is on as always for the fountain of youth.  That’s the reason for the latest interest and controversy surrounding hgh or human growth hormone.

This amazing and incompletely understood hormone produced by the tiny pituitary gland at the center of your brain is responsible for keeping your body renewed and looking young.

That’s why people are trying to get their hands on this hormone and why some are even rashly ignoring the consequences of directly injecting it into their bodies against the law.

The good news is that you don’t have to do any of that.  There are already hgh pills available that contain all the ingredients necessary for your body to take and produce all on its own the fountain of youth hormone hgh.  Some pills are now possibly even more effective than risky hgh injections.

tanning lotion

Wednesday, October 27th, 2010

What does Snooki do on the Jersey Shore to get that dark tan?  I don’t really know actually, but I’ll bet she’s not just getting it from the sun.

Are there benefits to tanning other than just looking good on the Jersey Shore?  I’m not sure.  Most of the benefits of tanning are connected to the tanning you get from the sun.  The sun rays cause your body to produce vitamin D which has huge benefits to your health.

So if you goal is to look good, find a good tanning bed and use the best tanning bed lotion you can find.

But what if you just want to look good and you live in the north?  The sun practically disappears for 6 months of the year.  Tanning beds are likely your only option and likely the thing that Snooki is using to get that hot looking tan.
